South Geelong crash on Latrobe Tce brings traffic to screeching halt

Afternoon smash sparks peak-hour pain on major Geelong road.

Traffic on one of Geelong’s busiest roads was brought to a standstill late on Monday afternoon after a peak-hour crash.

The incident took place on Latrobe Tce near Russell St about 4:30pm.

Police and paramedics were both present at the scene, which caused delays on the southbound lane of the main road.

The vehicles were moved off Latrobe Tce and onto the service road used to enter Kardinia Park just behind the St Mary’s Sporting Club rooms.

One car had damage to its front and both airbags in the vehicle had deployed.
