The Catholic college named as the fastest-growing regional school in the state is opening two new development stages at its northern suburbs campus.

The $24.8 million investment at Xavier College’s Two Wells campus includes two new buildings and a range of outdoor amenities, opening on Thursday morning.

Xavier College Principal Mark Flaherty said it was a privilege to see the next stages of the campus open, designed and constructed by Edge Architects and Mossop Contruction + Interiors.

“The college is immensely proud of the expansion of our footprint in the north, providing affordable Catholic education to families in the area,” Mr Flaherty said.

“These modern facilities at Two Wells are complemented by our exceptional staff on each of our campuses.”

The first of the two new stages is the Lynn Martin Building, named in honour of former principal Lynn Anthony Martin, which combines new construction with the existing stage one.

It includes 12 general learning spaces, a virtual reality space, specialty music and language tutorial rooms and a multi-use hub.

Stage two includes an additional 120 metres of carparking to help pick up and drop off for the growing expanded student population and outdoor verandas for outdoor learning and to link to the existing stage one.

A spokeswoman for Xavier College said housing development in the northern regions, such as Riverlea, had been key to bringing more students to their campuses.

Xavier College has experienced a huge 83 per cent increase in enrolment numbers across its three campuses, with Two Wells R-9 campus alone seeing a growth of more than 400% from its opening in 2021.

The Two Wells campus is expected to extend to an R-12 campus in the coming years.

Head of Campus Janet Coomber said: “It is truly a blessing to have such a remarkable facility that enhances our students’ learning, serves as a versatile venue and gives our OSHC an exciting new space.”

The Two Wells campus is expected to continue to expand with more facilities currently being designed and stage four expected to open in 2025.
