UNIQLO to unveil first SA store in Rundle Mall precinct

Japanese global retailer UNIQLO is unveiling their first South Australian store in style – with a traditional drumming celebration and cheesecake.

Japanese global retailer UNIQLO will open the doors to their first South Australian store on Thursday – and just in time for Black Friday.

The highly anticipated opening follows a cemented presence in other major cities across the country.

UNIQLO Australia chief operating officer Kensuke Suwa said the lifewear apparel brand was in high demand in the state.

“We’re very excited to be opening our first-ever store in Adelaide, making this UNIQLO’s 30th store in Australia since the brand arrived in 2014,” he said.

“The team are looking forward to meeting locals, providing world-class customer service and helping them with our iconic lifewear products – simple, high-quality, everyday clothing thought through with life’s needs in mind, and accessible for everyone.”

The retailer has employed 85 new staff members for the Adelaide location, contributing to a growing global team in more than 2400 stores worldwide.

The store will open at 10.00am on November 24 in Rundle Mall’s Myer Centre, following an official ribbon cutting ceremony and a Japanese taiko drumming celebration.

The first 1,000 customers who spend $100 or more will receive a free gift bag, while others will be treated to Japanese cheesecakes with yuzu curd created by SA MasterChef contestant, Callum Hann.

Other exclusive opening offers will be available on the day.
