Train and car involved in crash at intersection of South Rd and Cross Rd, Edwardstown
The elderly driver of a car that collided with a train on a busy road in Adelaide’s inner southwest has been taken to hospital.

A train crash in Adelaide’s inner southwest on Thursday afternoon caused heavy traffic and train delays, with an elderly driver hospitalised after the collision.
Emergency services rushed to the intersection of South Rd and Cross Rd at Edwardstown after reports that a train and car collided around 5.15pm.
The driver, a Elizabeth Vale man, 89, was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. His car was later towed from the scene.
Police said there are no reports of serious injuries at this time.
Road closures were in place while emergency services attended to the scene. The roads reopened about two hours after the incident.
Police are will continue their investigation into the circumstances that led up to the crash.
The incident also caused disruptions to train services, which have since returned back to normal.
Commuters travelling on the Seaford line were redirected to substitute buses that took them to Oaklands station, where they could catch a train to their original destination.
