Three young men will face court for allegedly attempting to steal from a southern suburbs store, which led police to an unlicensed gel blaster found in a car.

Staff spotted two men who were allegedly trying to steal a drone from a business at Noarlunga Centre about 5.10pm on Tuesday.

They were held inside until Southern District patrols arrived, and when questioned, they told police they went to the store in a silver Toyota Corolla.

Patrols found the car in the carpark and allege they found a man seated in the back seat.

Following a search of the car, officers allegedly found a large wooden club down the side of the driver’s seat and a backpack with a black gel blaster inside, on the back seat.

The three men – aged 20, 22 and 23 from Adelaide – were arrested and charged with several offences including, theft, possessing a firearm without a licence, possessing an unregistered firearm and carrying an offensive weapon.

They will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Wednesday, after being refused police bail.
