A man will face court on Wednesday, charged with several child sexual offences after police raided a southern suburbs home.
Investigators from the SA Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (SA JACET), went to a southern suburbs home on Tuesday and arrested a 22-year-old man.
Police allege it followed information received from the National Child Missing Exploitation Centre, suggesting a person at the address was trading child exploitation material online.
According to police, initial forensic digital examinations revealed that child exploitation material was present on the man’s two mobile phones.
It was further alleged the man had a presence on a variety of online platforms commonly used in the trading of child exploitation material.
The man was charged with two counts of disseminating child exploitation material and two counts of possessing child exploitation material.
He was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Detective Chief Inspector George Fenwick, the officer in charge of the SA JACET, said the team was committed to prosecuting anyone who goes after our community’s most vulnerable.
“We need to be acting as a community to be cognisant to the risks that may be facing our children and prevent online child sexual exploitation,” he said.
