The heartbroken widow of a South Australian man who drowned in Bali has shared their final moments together in an emotional tribute to him.

Jacob Vennix and Kimberley Fuller, from Adelaide’s western suburbs, were married for less than a fortnight when their honeymoon in Bali ended in tragedy.

Mr Vennix, 32, died on Monday after being dragged out to sea by a strong current while swimming at the estuary at Pasut Beach in Tabanan Regency, northwest of Kuta, at about 3.50pm local time on Monday.

In a tribute to her husband on Tuesday, Ms Fuller, 38, posted a photo to Facebook of the couple’s interlocked hands taken on their final night together.

“He was the most beautiful human, partner and father,” she wrote.

“All he wanted was to marry me and love and look after me and the boys.

“I will make sure the boys know what an angel he was. Now an angel in heaven.

“I love you my darling. I’m so sorry.”

Ms Fuller’s post sparked an outpouring of support from friends of the family, who offered their condolences and help to the grieving widow.

Louise Goricanec wrote she was thinking of Ms Fuller and the family.

“So sorry for your loss,” she wrote.

“Please let me know if there’s anything you need or we can do. Thinking of you and your family”.

Some also shared tributes to Mr Vennix.

“One of the nicest, most amazing gentlemen I’ve known and an honour to be his friend,” wrote Brett Brown.

“I’m so so sorry Kim, we love you and are thinking of you xxx.”

Mr Vennix and Ms Fuller met nearly three years ago at a Coles supermarket check-out.

In August, Mr Vennix spoke to The Advertiser while preparing for the City-Bay fun run, remembering how he spotted his future wife’s four-year-old Isaac playing with a Guide Dogs box.

The soon-to-be couple struck up a conversation and love grew from there.

They even ended up naming their son Cole, who was born near-sighted, in memory of that life-changing meeting.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese posted about Mr Vennix’s death on X on Tuesday.

“This is such deeply sad news,” Mr Albanese wrote.

“Our thoughts are with Jacob’s wife, family and friends.”

Foreign Minister Penny Wong said she was “heartbroken for Mr Vennix’s wife and loved ones”, offering her deepest sympathies in a statement.

“I know all Australians will be thinking of them,” Ms Wong said.

“The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and our consular officials in Bali will continue to provide consular assistance.”
