Royal Adelaide Show ticket prices will remain steady this year as organisers prepare for the beloved event’s return next month.

A weekday children’s pass ($16.50) will cost the same as in 2023, while a full-priced adult showgoer ($27) will pay just $1 more. Family tickets ($63.50) have also increased by only $1 and concession is up 50 cents for the August 31 to September 8 event, with tickets going on sale at 9am Thursday.

The news comes after last year’s price hikes which saw admission rise by as much as $10 in some cases – or 50 per cent – compared to the previous year. Tickets at the gate will also cost the same as pre-purchased passes bought online.

Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society chief executive Will Rayner said they have made every effort to keep prices down despite growing costs.

“As a not-for-profit organisation that has been around for 185 years, we have done our best to absorb as much of the rising costs of delivering this event, while ensuring we still deliver new and exciting attractions and all the popular favourites that people love,” Mr Rayner said.

The hugely popular Bluey Live Interactive Experience is set to return with an expanded program, entertaining fans across five days in the Goyder Pavilion.

Featuring TV dogs Bluey and Bingo as well as their friends, the stage show drew thousands of young children and their families for each performance in 2023.

The Polly Waffle Showbag will also be back after the iconic Australian treat made a long-awaited return to supermarket shelves earlier this year. The full list of showbags will be unveiled on August 15.

The Taste SA Pavilion has been moved to a larger space, allowing food lovers the opportunity to try even more of the state’s best produce.

Young showgoers can also enjoy a hands-on experience with the baby animals of the Learning Centre, presented by Urrbrae High School, and the interactive children’s attraction ‘Aggie’s Farm’.

“Thanks to the thousands of rural and regional South Australians who travel to the Show to compete and exhibit their animals, the wider community has a chance to better understand the dedication and expertise of our farmers who feed and clothe us every day,” Mr Rayner said.

Tickets are available from 9am online through the Show website or in person at one of 91 Foodland stores across SA. Roving staff will replace ticket boxes at the gates.
