Police are investigating reports of a naked man lurking near a popular recreation park on Tuesday.

Two sightings of the naked male at the Anstey Hill Recreation Park, Tea Tree Gully yesterday have prompted police to urge walkers in the area to be vigilant and carry their mobile phone with them.

About midday on Tuesday a mountain biker saw a naked man on a trail off Range Rd South, near Gate 18, in the northeast corner of the park.

The man ran and hid in bushes but about 45 minutes later, a walker spotted the naked man from a distance near the junction of the Newman’s Track and Range Rd, South Track.

The man is described as of caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40s, with a slim build and neatly-cut mousy coloured hair.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate the man.

The fresh warnings come after an alleged assault at the recreation park in August prompted police to urge walkers to remain vigilant.

Anyone with information that may help police to identify and locate the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestopperssa.com.au
