Norwood couple’s wedding blown away by savage Adelaide storm

Think Saturday’s weather ruined your weekend? Spare a thought for these two Adelaide lovebirds and their soaking wet wedding party.

Adelaide wedding chaos as 'mini-cyclone' blows in

When Adele and Bradley Foster were planning their wedding, they forgot to factor in the possibility that it might be disrupted by a mini-cyclone.

The Norwood couple were about five minutes into formalities at Maximillian’s Restaurant, in Verdun, when the ferocious storm hit.

“We just keep going, thinking it would pass, and then the wind just took all the umbrellas and it was all stations go,” and upbeat Adele told the Sunday Mail. “The guests, the bridal party, we all just bolted inside.”

After scurrying from the lawns into the reception hall, celebrant Alessandro Iannella was finally able to declare Bradley, 34, and Adele, 30, husband and wife.

And despite some soggy formalwear, Adele said spirits remained high.

“After I rushed inside, my first question was ‘How are the guests?’,” she said.

“But even after all that, the vibe was still positive, with everyone laughing and staying positive.”

Adele, a schoolteacher, said she and Bradley planned to honeymoon on Queensland’s Hamilton Island, but not until the January holidays.

And she wasn’t worried by the possibility of that celebration also being disrupted by a cyclone because of the time of the year.

“That would just be cyclone number two,” she laughed.
