We’re not going to lie – it’s a universal truth that if you’re famous and good-looking everyone is going to be keeping an eye on who you’re dating … especially in Adelaide.
Let’s take stroll down lovers’ memory lane – and where better to start than with the sons of footy legend Graham Cornes.
KANE AND LUCY CORNES
Once upon a time there was a Port Adelaide superstar called Kane Cornes who married his teenage sweetheart and Sacred Heart College schoolmate Lucy Gross in 2005. The genetically-blessed pair are busy living happily ever after.
At about the same time, Kane’s older brother and fellow Power player Chad Cornes was dating someone rather famous.

While he has been publicly hating on the Crows lately, it has to be noted that he’s really a lover not a fighter.
CHAD CORNES … AND RACHAEL CARPANI
Back in 2005 Chad was romancing actress Rachael Carpani, one of the stars of Made-in-SA Mcleod’s Daughters.
She cheered him on when his team won an AFL grand final and he was her date at the Logies, but in 2006 they called it quits and she began going out with her castmate Matt Passmore.

Chad, meanwhile, moved on with model, blonde bombshell Julia Cherry.
The two were on-again off-again until they parted ways for good in late 2010, after which Chad dated another glam model, Lucy Travers, for a few months in 2011.

Fast forward to 2015 and Chad was dating the lovely Laura Csortan, who also happens to be from Adelaide.
Prior to Laura, Chad had been seeing another beauty, Ash Thompson, the ex-wife of Crows champ Scott Thompson.
Laura, who was crowned Miss Congeniality at the 1997 Miss Universe pageant and got her big break in TV in 2000 on Seven’s Getaway, has also been linked to a string of high-profile men.

Before Chad she dated Abercrombie and Fitch model Joshua Slack, who was 11 years her junior, and she was also in a long-term relationship with Silverchair bass player Chris Joannou.
Post-Chad, in early 2016, Laura was rumoured to be going out with Sydney pub baron Stu Laundy, who was on Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette.
Later that year Laura had a baby girl, Layla Rose, the father of whom she has never revealed.

Chad is, of course, now all loved-up with partner Mikayla Graetz.
The cute couple are proud parents to Wynter Viola, who turns two in January.
No deep dive into a who’s who of the Adelaide dating pool could leave out down-to-earth darling Teresa Palmer.
The homegrown Hollywood star, who famously manifested her hubby Mark Webber, has quite the list of high-profile exes.

They include former Power player Stuart Dew who is now head coach of the Gold Coast Suns. He married an Adelaide girl, namely, pretty pocket-rocket journo Sarah Cumming in 2013 – the same year Tez and Mark tied the knot.

Which brings us back to Teresa. After Stu, when she moved to Hollywood, she was linked to That ‘70s Show star Topher Grace. It was 2007 and they were starring in Kids of America. “She plays the girl I am chasing after and she was great,’’ he told Aussie reporters at the time.
Was art imitating life? Teresa said any rumoured romance was just that and that she and Stu were still an item – and that she and Topher were just good friends. That said, just weeks later, Tez and Topher were papped arm-in-arm in Los Angeles.

At the same, Stu confirmed to Confidential that he and Teresa had parted ways months before.

Fast-forward 12 months and Teresa was going out with bad boy Russell Brand, whom she met on set of Bedtime Stories, also starring comedian Adam Sandler and Keri Russell.
But before that Teresa was also said to have dated The OC actor Adam Brody.
By early 2009 she was believed to be back on with Topher, when they were spotted in Glenelg, Semaphore and at the Hyde Park Tavern.
By September the on-again off-again lovebirds were off and the goss was that Teresa was single … after dating former Home And Away hottie turned Hollywood hunk, fellow Aussie Chris Hemsworth.

However, by the year’s end, she was off the market having hooked up with Nash Edgerton, who was also in showbiz – as a stuntman and director.
Tez and Nash – who is the brother of actor Joel Edgerton, the now partner of Adelaide-born uber-fashionista Christine Centenera – even rang in 2010 together on Sydney Harbour.
By the end of that year the fireworks between Teresa and Nash had fizzled, but she wasn’t lonely for long.

In April 2011, it was official – Tez had a new beau, who just happened to be the ex of her Kids of America co-star Keri Russell; you may recall their screen chemistry on the late ‘90s TV series Felicity spilt over into real life.
But back to Tez and Scott; the co-stars on the sci-fi hit I Am Number Four went public with their union at Coachella Music Festival in the US.
By Christmas it was serious – the couple celebrated the silly season in Adelaide, where he met her folks.
It didn’t last; by July 2012 they had split and three months later Scott had moved on, dating Parisian ingenue Camille De Pazzis, his co-star in military TV series Last Resort.

But there’s a very happy ending to this story; Teresa, is, of course, now married to the love of her life, Mark, the couple sharing four cute kids, Forest Sage, Bodhi Rain, Prairie Moon and Poet Lake.
