Lifelong Adelaide fan Grace Moores reunited with pop star Katy Perry after meeting seven years ago while battling brain cancer

An Adelaide fan has reunited with her pop idol after the pair first met seven years ago during her fight against cancer.

Pop superstar Katy Perry was reunited with a lifelong Adelaide fan at Thursday’s premiere show, after the pair first met seven years ago under quite different circumstances.

Avid fan Grace Moores was in the midst of battling brain cancer when she met her idol aged only eight in 2018.

The diagnosis meant Moores wasn’t able to enjoy her birthday gift that year to attend the Katy Perry concert, as she had undergone the second major operation just before the debut Adelaide show.

Fortunately, the megastar in 2018 paid Moore a home visit, where she performed three songs with her band, as well as taking an hour to get to know the family and pose for photos and selfies.

Fast forward to Perry’s Lifetimes Tour on Thursday and the heartwarming pair meet again.

From the stage, Perry recalled their meeting, saying: “I remember coming to your house and having a moment, checking out your bedroom and everything”.

The singer inquired about Grace’s health today, to which she responded with a simple: “I’m all good”.

Perry then showered the fan with compliments.

“You’ve grown up into such a beautiful young lady,” she said. “God bless you, I’m so happy to see you Grace. I’m so happy to see how well you’ve been … love you.”

Meanwhile, fellow superfan Keegan was brought up on stage and given the opportunity to dance to Perry’s song ‘Swish Swish’ and the youngster did not disappoint.

Keegan was flipping and tumbling and strutting his stuff while the singer followed behind, singing.

After his performance, Perry got on her knees in awe.
