Three teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly robbed a bottle-shop in Adelaide’s north east on Sunday morning, with one of the youths posting a video of the break-in to social media.

Police responded to alarm activations at a bottle shop on Gorge Rd, Newton, at about 1.45am, where the youths had allegedly forced their way in with a shovel.

CCTV footage from inside the store, shows the three teenagers, aged 14, 14 and 17, attempting to jimmy the front sliding doors open, before smashing their way through a glass window.

Store Manager, Steven Marshall told 7News Adelaide that the business had been targeted in the past, but nothing as serious as the latest incident.

“We’ve had a couple of smash and grabs, but not like this,” he said.

“We realised that they’d broken into the back area, and stole a spade, tried to jimmy the door open, and when that didn’t work, they smashed the window.”

Mr Marshall said he was angered that the youths felt comfortable enough to post their crimes. Picture: 7 NEWS

Footage shows the youths climb through the smashed window, before spreading out in the store and stealing about $500 worth of alcohol within “20 to 30 seconds”, before exiting and fleeing the scene.

7News reported that shortly after the break-in, one of the youths’ posted a video of the robbery to his Instagram account, which then led police to finding and arresting them with the stolen goods.

Mr Marshall said he was angered that the youths felt comfortable enough to post their crimes, and that he believed they had cased the joint the night before.

“The only anger I get is their cheekiness to do that and put it out there, it just means that they have no feelings to what they are doing,” he said.

“It is concerning. What are they gonna do? They could turn around and try and beat you over the head with the bottle, or pull out a knife or anything.

“It just makes you wonder, what’s gonna happen in the future and how more often that this type of incident will keep re-occurring.“

The recent incident comes as new ‘Post and Boast’ legislation was introduced to state parliament in February, that could see offenders face up to two years behind bars for sharing footage of illegal activitiesPolice said Eastern District patrols searched the area and located suspects matching the descriptions from the CCTV on nearby Hamilton Tce, Newton.

Police also located the stolen alcohol.

A 14-year-old boy from Newton, a 14-year-old boy from Andrews Farm and a 17-year-old boy from Salisbury were arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass and theft.
