Fire causes $1m damage to Fleurieu businesses as gym and hire building goes up in flames at Port Elliot
A building that’s home to two businesses has been completely destroyed in a $1m blaze on the Fleurieu overnight.

A fire at Port Elliot has destroyed a building that houses two businesses, causing $1 million damage overnight.
Just after midnight on Thursday, firefighting crews found the shed used as a property hire and gym business fully alight.
The building is home to Diggermate Mini Excavator Hire and the Waves of Warriors Muay Thai Training Centre
Firefighters, using breathing apparatus, contained the fire to prevent it from spreading into other nearby businesses.
SA MFS were supported by SA Police and SA Ambulance at the scene.
However, the building could not be saved, with the fire destroying the shed, and the damage bill exceeding $1 million.
Fire investigators were notified and were set to got to the scene on Thursday morning. The cause is not yet known.
Meanwhile, a fire at a popular Rundle St restaurant, Paper Tiger, saw a large response by firefighters from just before midnight on Wednesday.
The impact of that fire is not yet known.
The fires come after a string of unrelated fires this week.

The blaze started in a classroom on the secondary campus of St Mark’s College, at The Terrace, with reports of heavy smoke and visible flames emanating from a building about 3.30am on Monday.
On Tuesday, police confirmed a pair of 15-year-old boys had been arrested and charged after an investigation.
