A teenager has been arrested after police tracked him allegedly speeding and driving dangerously through northern and western suburbs late on Wednesday night.

About 10.50pm, police patrols spotted a black Mazda speeding on Bagster Rd at Salisbury North.

SA Police’s helicopter, PolAir, was in the sky and followed the vehicle towards the western suburbs, where it was clocked travelling at 140km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Port River Expressway.

The car was tracked from the sky until it came to a stop at Alberton, on Prince St, and patrols pulled up behind the car and asked the driver to get out.

PolAir tracked a teen as he allegedly sped around Adelaide, before the chopper was engaged to help arrest a woman wanted in relation to other crimes.

However, he allegedly refused and took off heading onto Port Rd, driving without lights and on the wrong side of the road at Queenstown.

The car stopped on Mead St at Birkenhead and the driver entered a nearby home where officers arrested the driver without incident.

Investigations revealed the vehicle was involved in numerous petrol thefts over the past few months.

A police spokeswoman told FIVEaa the incident was “incredible dangerous for everyone involved”.

A 19-year-old man from Queenstown was charged with contravening a direction to stop a vehicle and driving at a speed dangerous.

The car was impounded, defected and towed from the scene.

He was granted police bail to appear in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 2.

A short time later, PolAir was deployed to help arrest a woman after she allegedly failed to stop for police.

Police spotted the woman driving on Warsaw Cres, Hackham West about 11.45pm.

The woman was wanted for questioning in relation to property damage matters and known to be unlicensed.

PolAir was quickly overhead and tracked the vehicle as it sped northeast through Morphett Vale, north on Panalatinga Rd and into the Bunnings Reynella car park.

Patrols blocked the exits and apprehended the woman in the carpark about 12.15am.

It will also be alleged she was found in possession of illicit drugs.

The 33-year-old Hackham West woman was arrested and charged with driving unlicensed, failing to stop for police, driving dangerously to escape police pursuit and possession of a controlled drug.

She also charged with property damage in relation to an incident earlier in the evening, about 6pm, when she allegedly slashed three tyres on a vehicle in Reynella in a domestic dispute.

She was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later on Thursday.
