Our reopening kicks off in two weeks but the state government has still not released any detail on the rules when we have a Covid outbreak.

NSW government prevails in Supreme Court challenge over vaccine mandates

Quarantine requirements for businesses exposed to COVID-19 are expected to be released within days, as the state prepares to open its borders on November 23.

Mr Marshall refused to release details of rules on Tuesday of what would hapen when we have a Covid outbreak despite borders opening on November 23.

He said businesses would be given further advice about the likely “test, trace, isolate and quarantine” measures for South Australian businesses soon.

But the rules could be different for people who are not vaccinated against the disease.

He said the requirements would be among many “new ways of living and dealing with Covid-19”.

“(If there was a case at a non medi-hotel) at the moment, we would close that hotel but post November 23 this is not going to be practical because we will have cases in South Australia,” Mr Marshall said.

“We will be providing advice in the coming days to businesses, to families, to individuals about what the likely …. arrangements are going to be and that will differentiate based on someone’s vaccination status and how close they were to the person infected.”

Mr Marshall said the government would not consider full vaccinations for workers “at this stage”, despite calls from Business SA and the Australian Hotels Association.

The groups told The Advertiser that the state government should mandate vaccinations for staff in high-risk scenarios to “avoid a minefield of disputes” with employees.

“We have made it clear we don’t want to make it mandatory in South Australia, except when we received specific health advice from the chief public health officer or national cabinet,” he said.
