Police are investigating the “unexplained” death of a woman, 26, at Redwood Park.

Police said they were called to Somerset Ave at 8am on Thursday after a woman was found unconscious at the address.

Despite attempts, she was not able to be revived.

It is understood the woman lived at the home with her partner.

Police have closed off a section of Somerset Ave and put crime wrap in front of two houses.

There are about seven police officers huddled in front of the closed off houses after they conducted their initial investigation by interviewing neighbours.

A neighbour living behind the property, Roy Colloff, 63, said the people living in the house are a man and a woman.

Mr Colloff said the couple moved into the house about 10 months ago and he found their behaviour bizarre.

“I’ve heard the couple argue twice and the second time was as recent as three weeks ago and they were screaming and swearing at each other,” he said.

“Last night my smart German Shepherd was going up to the fence and barking at what was happening on the other side.

“Last time my dog did that was when they were arguing around three weeks ago.”

Mr Colloff said he finds the couple to be strange as they “never turn off their lights during the day and night.”

A neighbour Matthew Thomson, 38, said he was surprised to see police arrive on the street hours after the ambulances left.

“We saw about three ambulance vehicles at 8.10am this morning when I was getting ready to take my daughter to school,” he said.

“It was spooky seeing the ambulances here, but at the same time didn’t think too much of it.

“Then the police knocked on our door sometime between noon and 1pm.”

Mr Thompson said the neighbourhood is typically quiet, without any loud noises or untoward things happening.

Another neighbour - who has asked to remain anonymous - said she spoke to police around 1pm today.

She told The Advertiser she was informed by the questioning police about some of the details surrounding the unexpected death.

“The police told me it was a young-ish woman that died in the house and that there were two other people with her,” she said.

“I know it wasn’t an overdose exactly, but the police said it was a drug- related death.”

“They were also questioning us about a black car that was driving on the street here last night.”

The woman has been living on the street for “a long time” and she knows the house in which the death happened is new, built only two-years-ago.

However, from the outside the house looks overgrown with shrubs.

Northern District police, Major Crime detectives and crime scene investigators attended the scene, searching for evidence.

Police said they spoke to witnesses and residents in the area and a comprehensive investigation into the cause and circumstances of her death would take place.

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
