BLACK smoke at the Gold Coast Airport has been confirmed to be from standard testing conducted by firefighters.
The training exercise on Tuesday by airport firefighters caused black smoke to rise on the site, spotted by passengers on the runway.
Gold Coast Airport said the firefighters were conducting drills on the western side of the area, in a practice drill they regularly undertake.
