If you're keen for a fling or fancy an affair then new data from Ashley Madison reveals the locations set to sizzle this winter.

Coffs Harbour on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales has been named the top town Australia-wide to have a fiery fling this winter – and the stats to prove it are red hot.

Ashley Madison, the platform for married or partnered people to hook-up, placed Coffs at the top in its list of 20 locations to get a bit on the side.

This is the second year the sexually sizzling seaside township has appeared in the top five.

Ashley Madison Chief Strategist Paul Keable said the results were not necessarily because people in Coffs Harbour were hornier than elsewhere.

But the location and the population’s active lifestyle are likely contributing factors.

“It’s a beautiful outdoor place, and when the colder weather comes, people are looking for a little warmth, because often aspects of that intimate nature are missing in their primary relationship,” he said.

“People are looking for a lot of different things in different ways. “So it really is about people breaking down the traditions and the sort of barriers that are placed on us through the concept of traditional monogamy.”

Samantha Dawson has been a marriage celebrant in Coffs Harbour for 15 years and says people no longer feel pressured to stay in unhappy relationships.

She says people still want to get married but there’s not the same expectations placed on them.

“Attitudes have changed in terms of — if it’s not working out and you’re not happy there’s not such a stigma attached to actually leave a marriage and fall in love with somebody else,” she said.

Ms Dawson thinks the likes of platforms such as Ashley Madison will even one day become outdated too.

“I think that type of platform to have an affair was when the expectation was you’re not going to leave your partner and could have the best of both worlds,” she said.

“Whereas leaving your partner isn’t frowned upon so much anymore.

“I’ve married a woman twice who is under thirty,” she said.
