Teen fractures leg after crashing into harvester in Lockyer Valley

A LifeFlight rescue crew was called in after a ute crashed into a harvester on a rural road east of Toowoomba.

The LifeFlight SGAS aeromedical crew has flown a teenager to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in the Lockyer Valley.

According to the initial reports the teen was driving a utility on a country road when he collided with a harvester, about 4.30pm on Sunday.

Emergency services called in the LifeFlight choppers, which landed on a nearby road.

The teen was extricated from the vehicle by Queensland Fire Department firefighters, Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics and a LifeFlight critical care doctor.

He was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital with abdominal injuries and a fractured leg.
