Southeast Queensland has been lashed by thunderstorms on Saturday, with more rain predicted to come through the weekend.
A fast-moving storm has brought heavy rain and strong winds through Gold Coast and Logan on the afternoon.
Coolangatta in Gold Coast experienced 39mm rain and Alexandra Hills in Redland saw 29mm.
The wet weather caused flash flooding to more than 40 roads across the area, with more than 1000 households in Broadbeach Waters lost their power.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a strong wind warning and a hazardous surf warning for Gold Coast waters, alerting public the danger of coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming under such weather.
Surf Life Saving Queensland advised people to stay out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas.

Queensland was predicted to be hit by more severe thunderstorms on Sunday, with those bringing damaging wind gusts to its eastern coast between Ingham and Ayr.
While Gold Coast and the southern interior will continue to be hit by fresh and gusty winds up to 40km/h.
Wet weather will continue for southeast Queensland throughout the daytime, but showers will ease by late afternoon.
