Police search under way to locate offenders in stolen cars

Police are searching for several offenders after they were sighted in a stolen car in the Wilsonton area.

It understood one of the vehicles in question was a grey BMW that was the dumped in the Toowoomba suburb.

There were false reports on social media that the Wilsonton Shopping Centre was in lockdown but a Queensland Police Service spokesman said this was not the case.

Police did attend the centre as part of their search.

The QPS spokesman declined to comment further as the matter was ongoing.
