Police investigating spate of break ins at businesses across city

The public has been asked to report any sightings of a suspicious silver Mazda CX30 that has been linked to a spate of break ins across Toowoomba.

A bowls club and two supermarkets were hit in a spate of break ins across Toowoomba overnight.

According to the initial police report shortly after 12am on Monday three people used bolt cutters to smash their way into the Spar Supermarket at the Uni Plaza in Kearneys Spring where they stole cigarettes and personal accessories.

Two of the offenders wore white jumpers and black pants, while the third wore all black with a blue cover over their face.

Then at about 2.40am three offenders used bolt cutters to smash through the Drayton Bowls Club’s glass before stealing cash, a laptop computer, alcohol, and damaging property.

One of the offenders wore a green jumper while a second wore a white hooded top.

At about 3am, three people attempted to break into a supermarket on Erin Street, Wilsonton, however they left empty-handed after failing to gain entry.

Police are also investigating an earlier break and enter at a fitness business in Rangeville on Saturday night, February 1.

At about 12am unknown offenders smashed through a glass door gaining entry to the High Street, stealing a computer, and damaging property.

Police are investigating whether the incidents are linked.

Police ask anyone with information, relevant footage or may have information regarding a silver Mazda CX30 observed during the Drayton break in to come forward.
