Police hunt man after woman assaulted near Kitchener St caravan park

The victim was walking along a busy street when she was approached from behind and assaulted. Her attacker fled on foot and police are looking for CCTV or dashcam footage.

Police have asked for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for assaulting a woman in Kitchener St earlier this month.

About 9.30pm on July 4, the 59-year-old woman was walking near the Jolly Swagman Caravan Park when the assailant approached her from behind.

It is alleged he assaulted the woman, causing her to fall. She suffered minor facial injuries.

The man fled on foot and is described as having a dark complexion, with thinning brown hair and rat tails on his forehead. He was wearing a dark-coloured jumper and dark blue jeans.

The woman was wearing grey track pants, a pink coloured hooded top and gloves and green and blue shoes.

Police are appealing for the man, anyone who recognises him or has vision from Kitchener St and Harold Lane between 9.30pm to 9.50pm on July 4 to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
