Hundreds have turned out to the first day of the FraserPop Pop Culture Festival at Maryborough State High School, with many making a big effort to wear stunning costumes and impressive makeup.

The festival, sponsored by the Fraser Coast Regional, is a celebration of popular culture, games, gaming, and cosplay that will run over this weekend until Sunday, 3pm.

Here are just some of the incredible costumes that were on display at day one of the festival.
