Man rushed to Mackay Hospital after an alleged assault near Balnagowan Mandarana Rd
Police are investigating following an stabbing incident on a rural Mackay road in the early hours of the morning that sent one man to hospital.

A man was stabbed and taken by a perpetrator in the early hours of Monday morning, with police seeking information to find who was responsible.
Police are appealing to the public for any information or footage on Balnagowan Mandarana Rd, near Balnagowan at 1.50am January 6.
Detective Inspector Emma Novosel said initial investigations indicated “at an unknown time overnight a male was taken from that location by another person or persons”.
“He has sustained non-life threatening injuries and is being treated at the Mackay Base Hospital for those injuries,” Detective Inspector Novosel said.
“The victim sought assistance from a member of the public around 2am in that Balnagowan area.”
Police have yet to charge anyone and are working with the victim to uncover what transpired last night.
Detective Inspector Novosel encouraged members public with information, CCTV footage or dashcam footage to come forward.
Earlier, on January 5 at 7.40pm, paramedics responded to reports of a woman falling off their motorbike near Kuttabul.
Emergency services arrived to Watts Rd and took the motorcyclist to Mackay Hospital in a stable condition.
This comes after a woman was tragically killed and her son seriously burned in a horror fire in Sarina just before 4.30pm, January 5.
