A strata manager blew more than five times the limit behind the wheel during a morning roadside stop and told police “I’ve got to go to work” and “I’m not a bad person”.

Hannah Catherine Braddick appeared in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday for sentencing after pleading guilty to three charges including driving with a high range concentration of alcohol.

Braddick — whose occupation in court documents is listed as a real estate agent — also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence which was suspended due to not paying fines and breaching an apprehended violence order.

The 35-year-old was in an intimate relationship with a man for about six months before he asked her not to come to his house if she was drunk, according to court documents.

But when she went to his house in Woolgoolga on May 18 and started yelling and swearing he called the police.

When officers arrived about 1.30pm they could smell alcohol from two metres away and saw that she was unsteady on her feet, court documents outline.

She was taken to the Coffs Harbour Police Station and an interim apprehended violence order was served on her, preventing her from going to his house while intoxicated.

Despite the court order, she returned to the house in a taxi and banged on the door asking to collect some of her belongings and appeared to still be well affected by alcohol.

She shoved her foot in the door and grabbed her bags before taking them to her car and driving away.

Police were called the next day and they found Braddick about 500 metres away from the house behind the wheel of her car about 10.40am.

She told them she had slept at a caravan park the night before and said “I’ve got to go to work. I work in real estate. I’m not a bad person”.

When officers asked why she had gone to the protected person’s house she said “I’m allowed to if I’m not drinking”.

When breath tested Braddick blew 0.257 according to court documents.

It was also revealed that her licence had been suspended due to the non payment of various fines.

She was arrested and charged and appeared in the dock in handcuffs in Coffs Harbour Local Court on May 20 where she was granted bail.

As part of her bail conditions she was to report to police three times a week and abstain from alcohol but on one occasion she was accompanied by her father for reporting but was not able to stand unassisted.

When her matter next came to court on May 28 she did not attend and it was determined she had breached bail and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On Wednesday she appeared before Magistrate Jeff Linden to be sentenced for the three charges: driving with a high range concentration of alcohol; driving without a licence and breaching an apprehended domestic violence order.

Braddick was convicted and sentenced to an 18-month community corrections order to be of good behaviour and seek assistance with her alcohol misuse.

She has also been disqualified from driving for three months and after this be subject to an interlock licence for 24 months.
