Emergency services called to multiple incidents overnight

Firefighters were called to multiple incidents overnight, including a fire in a kitchen and a nasty crash where they had to cut the driver free from the vehicle.

Multiple Queensland Fire Department crews were called to a house fire at a Westbrook home that ignited after the occupant left for work.

A QFD spokeswoman said the fire started in the kitchen of a Main Street home about 7.30am Wednesday.

The fire crews entered the apartment block to conduct internal fire suppression and had the scene under control by 7.45am.

They also investigated the ceiling cavity and conducted atmospheric testing while police located the owner, who was at work.

In an unrelated incident, paramedics were called to a single-vehicle crash on the Warrego Highway at Plainland, about 3.40am on Wednesday.

The initial reports indicate the vehicle spun out of control and hit a guardrail.

One woman was transported in a stable condition with a minor head injury to Ipswich Hospital.

At about midnight emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash at Taabinga in the South Burnett after a woman crashed into a tree.

The QFD spokesman said four fire crews attended and used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the woman.

She was transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.
