Zachary Jarrod Hulse, 21, charged with possessing violent extremist material

A 21-year-old airconditioning technician from Brisbane has been charged with possessing violent extremist material.

A 21-year-old airconditioning technician from Manly has been charged with possessing violent extremist material by the Australian Federal Police.

Zachary Jarrod Hulse had his matter mentioned briefly in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.

He is charged under the Commonwealth Criminal Code Act with two counts of possessing violent extremist material obtained or accessed using a carriage service.

He was charged by an AFP officer from the National Security Investigations unit according to court documents.

Hulse, who is in custody, did not appear in court.

His solicitor Ryan Godfrey of Fisher Dore Lawyers sought the case be adjourned to Friday.

Magistrate Joseph Pinder remanded Hulse in custody until then.
