A 33-year-old man has died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash southwest of Cairns that has left another driver in hospital, and a road closed.

A man has died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash southwest of Cairns that has left another driver in hospital, and a road closed.
Police were called to the scene on Atherton Herberton Road, Wongabel, about 7.50pm following reports of a crash involving two four-wheel-drives.
It is believed a Ford Ranger and Toyota RAV4 that were travelling in opposite directions collided.
The driver and sole occupant of the Ford Courier, a 33-year-old Bayview Heights man, was treated for serious injuries, but later declared dead at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota, a 45-year-old Atherton woman, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Atherton Hospital in a stable condition.
Atherton Herberton Road, between Wongabel Road and Mount Baldy Bridge Road is expected to be closed for a number of hours while crews clear the scene.
Motorist are advised to avoid the area or expect delays.
