A Nudgee man has been charged with multiple drug offences after police allegedly uncovered a homemade drug lab during raids across Brisbane’s north.

Police allege he was producing and selling dangerous drugs across Queensland, and allege a cement mixer was used to make them.

Detectives from the Financial and Cyber Crime Group (FCCG) charged the 44-year-old man with drug offences following ongoing investigations as part of Operation Xray Toren.

Officers from the Dog Squad were involved in the raid, with a cement mixer among items seized.

Police, including from the Dog Squad and the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT), executed search warrants at Nudgee and Redcliffe addresses on May 16 and seized dangerous drugs, drug utensils, electronic items, and a concrete mixer which police allege was used to manufacture drugs.

A 44-year-old Nudgee man was taken into custody at the Redcliffe property and charged with dealing with identification information, producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, trafficking in dangerous drugs, possessing relevant substances or things, and possessing things used in connection with the commission of a crime.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 10.

Police will allege since February 2024, the man was producing and selling dangerous drugs, including Alprazolam and methylamphetamine, across Queensland.

Detective Chief Inspector Vince Byrnes from the Financial and Cyber Crime group said police were glad to have prevented more dangerous drugs from entering and harming the community.

“Removing drugs from Queensland’s streets and targeting and dismantling drug production, trafficking syndicates and individuals involved in the distribution of illicit drugs remains an ongoing priority for police to keep our community safe,” he said.
