A man has been charged after he allegedly crashed into four cars and a pole, before arming himself with a machete and scissors at Beenleigh on Tuesday morning.

It will be alleged a blue 2011 Holden Cruze was travelling along Saverin Rd towards the City Rd roundabout when it collided with the rear of a yellow 2003 Ford Falcon sedan waiting at the roundabout about 10.30am.

The 37-year-old female driver of the Falcon suffered minor rib pain to her right side.

The Cruze allegedly reversed back, mounted the kerb and accelerated past the Falcon onto the roundabout where it collided with the rear-end of a white 2022 Hino FG Series truck, driven by a 55-year-old man.

He was not injured but the impact ripped the bonnet of the Cruze off.

The damaged Cruze then allegedly continued around the roundabout, sideswiping a blue 2003 Toyota Camry driven by a 60-year-old man, before continuing onto City Rd.

It will be alleged that the Cruze approached the intersection of Logan St, where it collided with the rear of a white 2012 Nissan Navara utility waiting at the red light, driven by a 27-year-old man. Neither of these drivers were injured.

The Cruze then allegedly drove onto the wrong-side of Logan St and sped through a service station, before sideswiping a power-pole.

The Cruze continued along Logan St for a short distance before coming to a stop at a barrier where a man exited the vehicle allegedly armed with a machete and verbally abused witnesses who had come to help.

It will be alleged that the man then dropped the machete before retrieving a wallet and scissors from the Cruze and ran on foot.

The man allegedly attempted to enter a woman’s car on Boundary St, before he was confronted and arrested by police.

The man was transported to Logan Community Hospital in a stable condition for observation, before he was taken to the Beenleigh watchhouse.

A 45-year-old Rockville man has now been charged with two counts of going armed to cause fear and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obstruct police and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
