Two teenagers have been charged following an armed robbery in Brisbane’s south where they allegedly threatened a homeowner with machetes.

Police have charged two boys aged 13 and 16, after they gained access to a Macknish Crescent home in Coopers Plains at about 10.40pm on Saturday night.

It will be alleged the two boys entered a bedroom and threatened a 50-year-old woman with machetes, demanding the keys to her car.

They then fled the scene.

The woman sustained minor injuries with a garage remote and house keys allegedly stolen.

A short time later, it is alleged the two boys also attempted to force entry to a Lewis St residence but were unsuccessful.

The 13-year-old Sunnybank boy and 16-year-old Maroochy River boy were arrested at 1.30am Sunday and charged with seven offences each.

They included enter dwelling with intent by break at night in company, wilful damage, armed robbery, enter premises and commit indictable offence and face masked, blackened or disguise with intent to commit indictable offence.

Their police bail was refused and both are due to appear in Brisbane Children's Court on February 3.
