A young jogger has been chased with a machete and asked “do you want to die?” in a chilling attempted robbery in north Brisbane.

Footage aired by Channel 7 on Friday night showed a 17-year-old boy running towards a remarkably calm 20-year-old jogger in Scarborough at 2.25am Tuesday morning.

The unfazed runner stood his ground and asked the boy what he was planning.

“What are you going to do,” the man says.

“Are you going to stab me?”

The masked boy replied, “yeah, you want to die?”

A spokesman for the Queensland Police Service said two alleged perpetrators have now been charged over the incident.

“It will be alleged around 2.25am, a 20-year-old Scarborough man was walking along Scarborough Road when a Hyundai Palisade pulled up beside him,” the spokesman said.

“A 17-year-old Mango Hill boy has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery and learning to drive must be properly supervised.”

“An 11-year-old boy from Whiteside has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.”

The 17 year old will appear in the Redcliffe children’s court on Friday, June 13.
