Traffic gridlock after separate crashes as fog blankets city
Traffic is at a standstill after two separate accidents on the Gateway Motorway. It comes after the Bureau of Meteorology issued a weather alert for reduced visibility due to fog.

Northbound and southbound lanes on a major Brisbane motorway have both been affected by two separate incidents on Monday morning, causing peak hour traffic chaos.
It comes after the Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning about reduced visibility on the city’s road because of fog, particularly in western suburbs.
One person was being assessed by paramedics and multiple lanes impacted after a truck and motorcycle crash on the Gateway Motorway, south of Brisbane in Rochedale just after 6am.
Paramedics were called to the southbound lanes, and have “assessed on a stable male patient” a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said.
Half an hour later, in a separate incident, two trucks collided on the Gateway Motorway northbound causing major traffic delays in Brisbane’s south.
Lanes near the Logan Rd intersection at Eight Mile Plains northbound are also affected on the Gateway Motorway.
Motorists are advised of delays and advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.
In another accident a motorcyclist was left in a serious condition after his bike entered a ditch at Ipswich.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Brightview and Thallon roads around 5.30.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed a helicopter had been sent to the scene.
“One male patient has significant leg injuries and is in a serious condition,” the spokesperson said.
It comes after the Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning about reduced visibility because of heavy fog over Brisbane, particularly in the city’s western suburbs.
