A woman whose dog was found dead dumped in the sea less than a year ago has revealed her two other dogs are now missing, with police investigating the “theft”.

Tori Hornsveld’s American staffordshire, Koby, was found in July last year near a fishing platform halfway through Hornibrook Bridge.

On Mother’s Day, Ms Hornsveld, said she discovered her two dogs Luka and Sonny had gone missing from Brighton, suspecting someone had taken both dogs.

While Ms Hornsveld said she had only had Sonny for eight months, she had Luka for much longer and he was Koby’s best friend.

“Luka was the last little bit we had left connected to Kobe. Luka was actually wearing Kobe’s collar when he went missing,” she said.

“It’s pretty heartbreaking, and to have it happen twice in such a short period of time is just not a nice feeling at all.”

Ms Hornsveld said she had spoken to people in the area who say they saw the two dogs on the street, with a man behind them, but are not sure if it is connected.

A $10,000 reward is on offer for anyone who finds the two dogs.

“We’re doing letterbox drops across Brisbane. We’ve got big stand up signs in the intersections of the highway leading into Bracken Ridge and Sandgate,” she said.

“I’ve also been sharing in all of the community groups for the last month.

“Lots of people send in sightings of dogs that they think are my dogs, but unfortunately, no one seems to have seen my two.”

Ms Hornsveld said she is extremely concerned about both dogs, because Luka was still a puppy and Sonny was only eight months.

“The problem with Sonny was right before he got stolen, he actually broke his back leg,” she said.

“We paid $7,000 to have the surgery done, and then, he’s obviously due to go back to the vet for follow up treatments.

“He was on daily medication, which whoever stole him wouldn’t have had any of the medication. They clearly haven’t taken him back to a vet.”

But since Kobe was first stolen, Ms Hornsveld, said it had given her a new passion.

“I’ve actually enrolled to study, so I’m starting to become a vet myself,” she said.

“That was the way that I sort of dealt with all of that.

“And I have a passion and love for animals myself. I’ve grown up with horses, cows, chickens, dogs, cats, everything you can kind of name.”

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the theft of the two dogs from the property in Brighton

Police are urging anyone with any information to come forward.
