A woman accused of playing a role in the shooting of a man in Corinda, in Brisbane’s west, allegedly traded drugs in exchange for a Mercedes a day earlier.

On October 4 2022, Cheyenne Anniki Petryszyn and three others had allegedly ambushed a Corinda house before the 38-year-old resident Timothy Van Vo was shot at close range in the chest.

Soon after the shooting, police said they found a sophisticated meth lab operation inside the home.

Four people have each been charged with one count of murder, with their committal being heard at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Brianna Spiteri - the ex-partner of Mr Van Vo’s roommate David Le told the court how the fight unfolded from her perspective.

She said she woke up at around 3.30am to hear strange noises in the front yard, followed by a gunshot.

“The front door was open and unlocked… I heard David screaming for help,” Ms Spiteri said.

“There were four of them. One of them was holding a shotgun. Three people just standing there.”

After she allegedly saw Mr Van Vo’s body lying on the ground, she started throwing punches at one of the four people.

“She couldn’t go anywhere else, and she wasn’t even punching or fighting back or blocking my hits or anything,” Ms Spiteri said.

“Two of them came over to me and started attacking me, and they pushed me and I fell.”

The intruders then allegedly fled in a silver Audi which was burnt alongside six other cars at a Dutton Park unit complex on October 6.

Ms Spiteri said one of the alleged attackers, Petryszyn, appeared a day before the shooting to exchange a Mercedes hatchback that Mr Le possessed for an, “ounce - or half an ounce - of gear”.

“She drove off with it. She actually had all of her friends with her. They were waiting outside,” Ms Spiteri told the court.

The court heard that almost 24 hours later, Ms Spiteri discovered she recognised the person she was attacking, given she had, “the exact same clothes and everything”.

Two days after the alleged shooting, Hatton Vale man Andre Van Mason was arrested at a Vermeer Close property on October 6 before being taken into custody.

He was charged with murder, dangerous drug possession, unlawful weapon possession, and unlawful use of motor vehicle.

Another man, Justin Richard Moulds-Steele, was charged with one count each of murder and dangerous drug possession.

Moulds-Steele appeared in the committal accompanied by police, with neck and face tattoos, wearing a shirt and tie.

Petryszyn was charged with murder alongside a string of charges including dangerous drug possession, uttering forged documents, and attempting to pervert justice.

Jay Allan Roberts was charged with one count each of murder, dangerous drug possession and unlawful use of motor vehicle.

The committal hearing was adjourned to Wednesday at 10am.
