Melbourne-based TikTok sensations Luke and Scott O’Halloran, popularly known as ‘Luke and Sassy Scott,’ are taking their comedy from screen to stage with the announcement of their debut live tour across Australia this September.
This follows the brothers’ rise to fame during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when Luke, 33, moved in with his older brother Scott, 38, and Scott’s husband Marcus, sparking the creation of their viral videos, starting with a viral hit filmed at Scott and Marcus’s wedding.
Since then, they’ve skyrocketed to social media stardom, secured a deal with Mushroom Management, and launched the chart-topping podcast ‘Luke and Sassy Scott’.
“We’ve gone from TikTokers that made one-minute videos to podcasters right, and the whole industry has been like, do a tour, do it, do it, do it,” Scott explained.
In a candid reveal, Scott shared how he was humorously kept out of the loop about the tour’s planning.
“Luke’s kind of gone behind my back and started to produce it without me knowing, selecting dates, venues … I had no idea,” he said jokingly.
Luke, the strategic planner of the pair, admitted, “I just ran with it, and now, it’s all set to go.”
“We thought we might not even fill a school hall, and some of these venues seats 2600.”
Despite the nerves of performing in front of a live audience for the very first time, the duo are remaining optimistic.
“At least if no one turns out, that’s gonna make a viral video,” Luke said jokingly.
The tour promises to deliver a thrilling mix of unpredictability and intimacy, complete with surprises, audience interaction and a peek into some of their most hilariously embarrassing home videos.
Although the shows are still in the “development stage”, the duo is hopeful to bring some celebrity friends on stage, including fellow famous Aussie siblings, the Veronicas sisters, Lisa and Jessica Origliasso. “Lisa and Jess, you better say yes,” Scott urged.
The tour will kick off at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on September 6 and conclude in Adelaide on September 23, with stops in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, July 9, with a special pre-sale for Frontier Members starting Monday, July 8.
