The Queensland hotels named among the top 10 in the South Pacific according to travellers

The best hotels in the South Pacific have been revealed with three from Queensland making the cut.
TripAdvisor, which spouts itself as the world’s largest travel guidance platform, on Wednesday announced its 21st edition of the Best of the Best Hotels list as part of its 2023 Travellers’ Choice Awards, with The Reef House Adults Only Tropical Escapes in Palm Cove taking out number two on the list.
“For almost 50 years, The Reef House Adults Boutique Tropical Escapes has provided a luxurious home away from home where couples can relax, revive and reconnect,” a TripAdvisor press release said.
“From the daily twilight canapes, pool butler service and luxury concierge, to the on-site yoga and wellness classes and award-winning day spa, this is a hotel that has every detail covered.”
The Reef House Adults Only Tropical Escapes, about 25 minutes from Cairns in Far North Queensland, ranked high because of its consistent five-star ratings for its location, cleanliness, service, and value reaching around $679 per night, according to TripAdvisor.
Following closely behind at third was Brisbane’s Kingsford Smith Motel, which was described as having “excellent hospitality and attention to detail.”
“It’s the kind of place where you can expect special touches, like a chocolate on your pillow and a truly warm welcome,” the TripAdvisor statement read.
With a 4.5-star rating a night at the motel costs about $205 for two adults.
The Sunshine Coast’s Element on Coolum Beach took out the seventh spot on the top 10 list.
“Who doesn’t love the idea of rolling out of bed, and heading straight to the beach?” the TripAdvisor release said.
“This architecturally designed resort offers 49 self-contained apartments and deluxe suites set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, an expansive heated outdoor pool, and barbecue facilities for the ultimate coastal escape.”
With a 4.5 star rating, the hotel has been described as the “perfect location.”
More than 1.5 million hotels worldwide were analysed by TripAdvisor for the Best of the Best Hotels list, with reviews left by travellers between January 1 and December 31, 2022 taken into account.
The results highlight the best hotels to stay across Australia and the world according to the annual data gathered, with the awards celebrating the favourite stays of travellers across 10 categories.
A further five Queensland hotels placed in the Top Hotels list with all eight in the top 25, including Korte’s Resort in Rockhampton in Central Queensland and the Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat, Tallebudgera on the Gold Coast.
Brisbane took the lead as the city with the most hotels on the list, including the Novotel Brisbane South Bank, Brisbane, Alcyone Hotel Residence in Hamilton, Brisbane, and the Emporium Hotel South Bank, Brisbane.
