A GOLD Coast nightclub is aiming to take entertainment to the next level by returning Surfers Paradise to its glory years.
Melbas general manager Dave Allen has joined forces with a dance music king and one of Australia’s richest men to deliver NXT LVL, which will open above the iconic Gold Coast nightspot Melbas on Cavill Ave on Friday night.

Prominent DJ Mark James is on board, along with billionaire businessman Bob Ell.
They hope to reinvigorate not only Melbas, but the Surfers night-life scene.
Mr Allen, whose father Paul ran Melbas for nearly three decades, has returned to the club, and believes there is still opportunity in the increasingly volatile night-life space.
“The whole landscape has changed in the past 10 years,” he said.
“But Surfers Paradise is still the tourist capital of Australia, so there’s definitely a need for this type of stuff.”
NXT LVL will attempt to create festival-quality electronic music sets from some of the country’s leading DJs.
