TRADE Minister and Moncrieff MP Steve Ciobo says the Greens are a more dangerous force in politics than One Nation, supporting the LNP’s position to preference them last.
“I think the Greens are a very dangerous political party, I think that they, in particular, when it comes to economic policy, would effectively bankrupt a state if they were in a position where they held a balance of power,” he told the ABC yesterday.
“I’m not going to pretend that there’s not support for One Nation out there, we’re detecting it, you’re seeing it in the polls.
“I respect that some Queenslanders hold the view that One Nation is putting forward a policy framework that they’re comfortable with.”
Leader of Opposition business Tony Burke said Mr Turnbull should put a stop to any preference deals with One Nation.
“Malcolm Turnbull has the stop finally hugging One Nation and be willing to say ‘put One Nation last’,” he said.
Mr Turnbull has repeatedly said any preference deals were a matter for the state Liberal party branches.
