The Ipswich Grammar playmaker torched Gregory Terrace for five tries and three try assists in a stunning final game of rugby union before joining the Sydney Roosters.

SYDNEY Roosters signing Sam Walker has bid farewell to rugby union with a stunning five-try haul in the final round of GPS rugby.

The playmaking son of former Bronco Ben Walker could have crossed for six but selflessly passed his chance away, one of three try assists he recorded in a 62-17 Ipswich Grammar win over Gregory Terrace.

Walker’s vision in support play bordered on supernatural as he appeared on cue to carry short passes and offloads through the Terrace line.

Scrumhalf and partner in crime Kalani Thomas scored a runaway try and pushed the final pass on Walker’s second try.

Walker’s masterclass led Ipswich to their fourth win of the season from eight matches.

Across town, departing First XV veterans Harry Vella and Reesjan Pasitoa steered Nudgee College to their biggest win of the season to claim third spot on the ladder.

The third-year prop and flyhalf combination ensured their final memories on Ross Oval would be positive, knocking top three rivals Churchie to fourth with a 62-0 win.

For Pasitoa, due to joins the Brumbies Super Rugby squad for pre-season training after graduation, his final moments on the ground he claimed the 2017 and 2018 Premierships were emotional.

“It’s a bit surreal to be honest,” Pasitoa said after the match.

“I spent three years here as a boarder so Nudgee is my home; I don’t know when it will sink in.

“To have one season in the Nudgee jersey is special, but for myself and Harry (Vella) to have three together is very special.”

Brisbane Boys’ College flexed its attacking muscle in round nine, pushing 76 points through Brisbane State High School’s defence while conceding 14.

The victory ended the most successful year in school history, having reached seven wins in a season for the first time.

Standout centre Lukas Ripley scored 34 points through four tries and seven conversions while defeated props Linston Tafa-Tuimavave and Jaiden Christian stood tall in a losing side.

Toowoomba Grammar School captain Dougal Gray was a breakdown menace as his side defeated visitors Brisbane Grammar 37-7.
