Roof collapses after garage fire at Chermside home

The roof has collapsed after a garage fire at a home in Brisbane’s north early this morning.

Emergency crews have rushed to a well-involved garage fire in Brisbane’s north on Monday morning.

Crews arrived at a residential property on Lenz St in Chermside West at 5.25am following reports of a structure fire.

A garage was well involved in the blaze, and the roof had collapsed.

The fire had been contained just after 6am and had not spread to the home or any neighbouring properties.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said everyone had been accounted for and nobody had been inside the garage at the time of the fire.

Paramedics remained on scene to assist firefighters.
