“The impact on the front of the SUV, the stolen vehicle, and the windscreen is very, very extensive and the damage to the motorcycle is very, very extensive as well,” he said.

“It’s a tragic event for the male rider, his family, the local community, the witnesses, the emergency services that have to come to these events, it is a tragedy we wish we didn’t have to come to.

He also said he did not believe the message was getting through to youths after several recent incidents.

“It’s not only a tragedy for the family and the male rider of the motorcycle, but when juveniles get into this sort of behaviour, the result on the rest of their life is very detrimental,” he said speaking generally.

Resident Skye Aminita said she was in her backyard when she heard the “massive” smash sound from the crash.

“The man was in very bad shape, one of his legs was completely twisted, it didn’t look good. Everyone was just shocked, one lady must’ve been a nurse and just went into full nurse mode and tried to help the man.
