A man accused of killing three people as he allegedly rammed a vehicle his ex-partner was fleeing in will head to court later this year.
Rafferty Raymond Rolfe was indicted on three counts of murder – domestic violence stemming from the 2023 incident.
Police claim that during the ordeal young mum Gypsy Satterley flagged down a passing car driven by Terry Bishop on the Bruce Highway at Federal, south of Gympie, while allegedly fleeing Rolfe.
Police accuse Rolfe of trying to ram Mr Bishop’s Nissan Navara that pushed it into the path of an oncoming ute driven by alpaca farmer Jessica Townley.
The collision killed Mr Bishop, 65, Ms Townley, 38, and Ms Satterley, 25.
At the time Rolfe was driving a Isuzu MU-X he’d allegedly stolen in a carjacking the day before.
He is also charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful entry of a vehicle for committing indictable offence while armed.
His case was mentioned in Brisbane Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Justice Michael Copley set the matter down for a pre-trial hearing on October 27.
Rolfe remains in custody.
