Queensland will lift its mask mandate for public transport at midnight on Tuesday night, in line with other states.
The move was announced by Health Minister Yvette D’Ath at a press conference in Brisbane.
Masks will remain mandatory for those who might be close contacts or for people who have recently had Covid-19.
South Australia on Tuesday also announced that the rule requiring masks on public transport would be lifted from Wednesday, with the same change to apply in New South Wales.
However, there will be no change in Victoria, amid a drop in Covid-19 infections.
