A man has been rushed to hospital after crashing into a wall at a racetrack south of Brisbane.

A man has been rished to hospital after crashing into a wall at a racetrack south of Brisbane.

Emergency Services rushed to Willowbank Dragstrip at the Ipswich Motorsport Precinct about 10.02pm on Thursday after reports of a vehicle had hit a wall.

Multiple paramedics attended the scene and treated a man in his 60s with life-threatening back, chest and leg injuries.

He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Despite initial details that the driver had been fighting for life, Willowbank Raceway posted to social media to say he was doing well.

“There was an unfortunate incident that had one of our long-time racers unfortunately come in contact with the wall seep in the breaking area,” the statement read.

“The great news is he is doing well and has sustained the normal injuries that any one can expect from the nature of this incident.”
