5 McMillan Court, Southport – $24m

The sale of this classic chateau-style mansion on Nerang River is expected to be one of the biggest on the Gold Coast this year.

Known as “Alston”, the Gatsby-esque mansion spanning 3,442sq m was marketed by Carlie Mills and Amir Mian of Amir Prestige.

Mr Mian said the local buyer paid $24m for the palatial six-bedroom property. It was snapped up after 11 days on the market.

1 Leopard St, Kangaroo Point – around $16m

Brisbane’smost expensive property sold again in a deal worth around $16 million in the city’s biggest home sale of the year so far.

The property became the most expensive home ever sold in the city when it fetched a whopping $18.48 million in 2017, but changed hands again in March.

Brisbane Broncos chairman Karl Morris was revealed as the buyer of the luxurious, clifftop mansion.

Mr Morris sold his riverfront property at 1 King Arthur Tce, Tennyson, in 2019 for $17.6 million.

This four-level oceanfront home along the Coast’s multi-millionaire’s row was sold to a Melbourne tourism heavyweight.

Marketed by Michael Kollosche and colleague Ryan Ward, the coastal trophy home has six bedrooms serviced by a lift, a gym, sauna and wine cellar, and six-car basement. It was built in 2007 on an elevated 564sq m block.

This five-bedroom home on a 1813sq m waterfront parcel quietly changed hands in January in a transaction handled by Michael Kollosche.

Entertainment industry couple Billy and Jackie Cross sold their lavish riverfront mansion in January.

Marketed by Michael Kollosche, the five-bedroom home on a sprawling 2,531sq m block has a gym, steam and massage rooms, 2000-bottle wine cellar, outdoor teppanyaki kitchen, pool and tennis court.

The sale price record in one of Brisbane’s richest suburbs has been smashed with a designer trophy home selling for more than $11.8 million.

Featuring a squash court, the jawdropping, six-bedroom mansion at 55 Markwell Street on Hamilton Hill has gone under contract to a local family upgrading in the area.

30 Seafarer Court, Paradise Waters $11m

This commanding home was snapped up by high-profile lawyer John Ramsden.

Its striking white facade with tall glass windows rises four levels over a 1,389sq m block — marketed as one of the largest single holdings in the exclusive enclave of Paradise Waters. The home has six bedrooms, a home cinema, rooftop entertaining terrace, and internal lift between levels.

101 Commodore Drive, Paradise Waters $9.95m

Company director Glenn Molloy splashed out just under $10m in the city’s most recent big sale of the estate known as “Tulsa”.

The four-year-old home boasts the city’s only approved waterfront helicopter landing pad. Its grand design is set over 1,129sq m and comprises five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a seven-car garage.

3-5 Westminster Court, Sovereign Islands $8.05m

This luxurious five-bedroom home on a north-facing double block with lashings of marble and American oak floors was sold by Ivy Wu and Isaac Kim of Ivy Realty. The three-level house has a formal lounge with fireplace and a wet bar, while outside there’s a large alfresco area with barbecue kitchen and teppanyaki grill for more casual entertaining.

3517 Main Beach Parade, Main Beach $7.263m

Queensland buyers claimed their piece of Gold Coast history with the purchase of one of only three original oceanfront cottages along the sun-soaked Main Beach strip.

The 402sq m, three-bedroom shack had been in the same family for 50 years and was marketed by Robert Graham, of Ray White Surfers Paradise.

66 Seaview Terrace, Sunshine Beach $7.7m

This one sold on April 17, but was added due to one outstanding fact – it is just a 574sq m block of land.

But that block of land sits on the same street as some of Queensland’s most expensive property, which is also home to some of the state’s most well-known celebrities and business types.

Just a few doors down is the home of former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his successful business wife Therese Rein, who paid $17 million for their plush pad in May last year.

The design of this brand new home is contemporary and classic, with sleek floating black and glass stairs leading between levels. The sale of this hillside mansion not only set a new record for the garrison city, it doubled it.

Bought by 1300Smiles managing director Daryl Holmes for $6 million in an off-market sale, it settled in February and eclipsed the previous sales record of $3 million set in 2007.
