A horror house fire that gutted a two-storey home this morning may have been sparked by an electrical issue, police have revealed.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police were called to a house fire at Beach Parade, Maroochydore, at 2.50am Thursday morning.
“Emergency services were called following reports a house was fully engulfed,” she said.
A Queensland police spokesman said as of Thursday afternoon the fire was considered non-suspicious and it was believed it may have been caused by an electrical fault at the back of the home.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said five crews called to the scene.
“They arrived around 3am this morning,” she said.
The QFD spokeswoman confirmed it was a two-storey home and said the fire appeared to be coming from the garage into the house with the rear of the property fully involved.
“All persons were accounted for,” she said.
QFD crews had the fire extinguished by 5am.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed there were no patients to be treated on scene.
