Violence has erupted in the lead-up to Christmas on the Gold Coast, with three people rushed to hospital following separate incidents overnight.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said two people were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions following an alleged assault on The Esplanade at Surfers Paradise just after midnight.

And a man was taken to hospital with head and hand injuries after an alleged wounding on Marine Pde at Labrador just after 10pm Wednesday.

Police have revealed that the Labrador incident was a neighbourhood feud in which a 62-year-old man was allegedly dragged into his neighbour’s apartment and stabbed.

Gold Coast police Superintendent Mark Wheeler said the victim and his 40-year-old neighbour had ‘some sort of altercation’ and was ‘dragged’ into the apartment where he suffered stab wounds to the hand and neck.

The younger man also sustained “some injuries”, Supt Wheeler said.

He said investigations were continuing and no charges had yet been laid.

Police are investigating both incidents.
